  • PE Student Joins Cast of The Lion King

    In October of 2009 Eden auditioned for the role of Nala in Disney’s Broadway production of The Lion King.  After several callbacks and lots of practice she was finally awarded the role and on the evening of September 29, 2010 she will have her first performance.  

    Eden Sanaa Duncan-Smith made her Broadway debut in the Tony Award winning cast of Fences in 2010 along side Denzel Washington, Viola Davis and Mykelti Williamson.

    As a dancer, Eden has studied at The Dance Theatre of Harlem, The American Ballet Theatre, St. Paul’s Dance ministry and Purelements: An Evolution in dance. She has been a Maafa Suite cast member for at least 7 years under the wing of Jesse Wooten Jr., Michelle Hawkins-Jones and Curtis Jones.

    This fall she will be a dance major at Mark Twain School for Performing Arts, is a member of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Actor's Equity and Broadway Kids and is a vocal student of Mrs. Shani M. Worrell.
