Purelements needs your support to continue the vital arts education, performance programming and youth development work that we do. Your contribution, large or small, will have a profound impact on the lives of the children and families we serve, many which are from underserved communities.

With your help, Purelements can continue to provide programs that are the launch pad for inspiring the artistic and academic talents of urban children and students, and enhance the professional careers of seasoned performers and emerging artists.

In 1981, at the ages of eleven and nine, Kevin Joseph and Lakai Worrell met at a community center in East New York, Brooklyn while competing in a “breaking” and “popping” Hip Hop dance competition. Little did they know that this dance battle would be the impetus of their long term friendship and business partnership. In the ‘80s, East New York was considered an urban “war zone, and crime, drugs and prostitution invaded their community.

PE TeamPurelements’ artistic team includes some of the industry’s most highly-sought after dancers, performing artists and choreographers.

Purelements uses the performing arts to educate its artists and audiences on social issues, and to enhance their artistic development and performance experiences.

Purelements goals are to empower people to live healthy, creative and balanced lifestyles; to increase self-awareness and cultural appreciation; and to break down barriers of social ignorance by bridging gaps between diverse communities through arts education and programming.
